100th Anniversary
Sudbury Baptist will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2011. The building has changed in the last 100 years, as you can see if you compare these photos. The people also look very different now!
The focus of our celebrations will be the weekend of Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of February 2011.
The programme for the weekend will be;
Saturday 12th February
- 3pm – Open Afternoon with light refreshments, a chance to meet friends, reminisce and learn something of the life of the church today.
- 5pm – A celebration tea at the church followed by greetings and testimonies from past and present members and friends.
Sunday 13th February
- 10.30 am – Centenary Morning Worship and Thanksgiving. The speaker will be Rev John Azumah, Head of the Islam Centre at the London School of Theology (formally London Bible College).
You are warmly invited to attend at any time over the weekend but we would like to extend a special invitation to the event on Saturday the 12th. It would be really helpful if you could let us know if you will be able to attend so that we may cater for something like the correct number!
You can e-mail your reply to roberthiggins@ntlworld.com or write to Mr R Higgins, 4, Eton Ave., Wembley, Middlesex, HA0 3AX
Should you be unable to attend it would be really good if you could send a few sentences of greetings that could either be read out or printed in the programme for the weekend.
Other Centenary events (provisional)
Further information about these events will be available on the church web site during the year.
March – Centenary Celebration in worship, music and song
